Project Scope: This project focused on the design of a DelDOT entrance design and related civil and site engineering services in support of the proposed Walgreen

Specific work that was required included the revision of a site plan for the property owned by PH Millville, LLC, at the intersection of Delaware Road# 26 and Delaware Road# 17 (TM #1-34-11-807 & 1-34-12-3.03 &3.04). The revised plan included revisions to the Walgreen site plan and proposed uses on the remaining parcels that generate traffic consistent with the DelDOT approved TIS. Our work required close coordination wit DelDOT in order to support the proposed entrance improvements to the store and to ensure compliance with the Route 26 widening and improvements A comprehensive stormwater drainage and management plan was also developed in order to propose improvements to the existing stormwater runoff capacity and to support additional flow resulting from the Walgreens development. As a result, a dedicated right turn lane was proposed to allow runoff from this lane to be directed to the DelDOT stormwater management structure and to allow for better management of runoff flow. Additionally, RAUCH inc. designed a stormwater drainage system and management facility to help manage the required DelDOT runoff off-set flow plus the additional runoff from the Walgreens entrance. The DelDOT state highway entrance plan was designed per DelDOT standards and included a dedicated right turn lane, entrance lane turning movements, lane widths, curb radius requirements, and right of way requirements. In addition to geometric requirements, a traffic study analysis provided the basis for the entrance requirements based on traffic projections. The updated site plan was also required to illustrate the proposed uses that will generate traffic consistent with the TIS report an intersection capacity. All plans and specifications prepared by RAUCH inc. conformed to the standards of Sussex County DE., Sussex Conservation Service, DelDOT, and HuntDouglas Real Estate Services, Inc. design criteria.
