Virginia Richardson, AIA

Vice President, Architecture

 

Virginia leads the architectural design team for all RAUCH inc. projects and has extensive experience in design and construction management activities for a variety of municipal, commercial, industrial, and residential projects.  She draws on her twenty-eight years of design experience in residential and commercial markets, including a stint with a Baltimore construction firm, where project roles included not only design, but oversight of construction on a variety of renovation and addition projects, as well as large-scale renovations and construction of clubhouses, hotels, and associated facilities.

Virginia and her team are skilled at working with Owners and vested stakeholders to gain a complete understanding of aesthetics and prioritization of goals for projects.  She has managed projects with budgets as high as $128M involving 500,000 sf of municipal, academic, commercial, administrative, and residential spaces, to smaller projects such as kitchen, guest house and office renovations.  Projects include developing existing building conditions reports, coordination of the space program planning process, feasibility studies, architectural, engineering and relocation services, all while incorporating value engineering into the process.  In addition, Virginia secures all building permits and regulatory approvals for projects. She guides clients through the design and construction process and acts as the liaison between the client and various internal stakeholders and diverse constituent groups.  Virginia is skilled at developing and managing project cost estimates, schedules, and scopes of work, while representing the Owner’s interests.   She is a graduate of The Catholic University of America and a resident of the Delmarva region for over twenty-five years.  As such, she is well versed on various local and state permitting and regulatory requirements and can guide clients though best-practices to achieve their goals
