geotechnical engineer

RAUCH inc., a full-service professional design firm, seeks to fill an immediate position of GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred)
  • 3+ years of geotechnical engineering experience (consulting environment preferred)
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Proficiency with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, LPILE, or equivalent
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and project management skills
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel for field work

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct geotechnical investigations, including field exploration and laboratory testing programs
  • Analyze soil, rock, groundwater, and geologic data to assess subsurface conditions
  • Prepare geotechnical reports and engineering recommendations for foundations, retaining structures, slopes, and pavements
  • Design shallow and deep foundation systems, retaining walls, and ground improvement techniques
  • Perform slope stability, settlement, and bearing capacity analyses
  • Coordinate with civil, structural, and environmental engineering teams
  • Oversee field work and construction activities to ensure compliance with geotechnical recommendations
  • Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies

SALARY & BENEFITS:

  • Salary range of $80,000-$100,000 per year (commensurate with experience)
