Master Park Planning and Upgrades

Project Description

This design project was funded by DNR and is designed to control and reduce stormwater run-off in Marina Park and create a demonstration area for public education on stormwater run-off issues, and different approaches to manage stormwater in a community. The project will use green approaches by installing filters, wood chip bioreactors and swales to restore and stabilize the flow channel banks with limestone check dams in the channels. Educational areas will also include a bioretention area with trees and a butterfly rain garden complex with rain barrels to collect rain that runs off the pavilions that exist in the Park, and a permeable pavement trail.

Additional funding was secured in 2021 for buildout of the plans.  The Town plans to complete the project in 2022.
