Watermain Replacement Project

Project Description

In conjunction with grant funding obtained by the MDE FFY2019 Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund (DWSRF), the Town was awarded $555,500 in loan/loan forgiveness funding to provide for the replacement of a 50+ year old failing transite asbestos pipe which has been subject to decay and degradation along Old Denton Rd. The project anticipates the replacement of 2,700 lf of the 6″ water line, along with (48) new 1″ connections to houses, (1) 2″ connection and (4) hydrants and valves.

The PER/ER report explored best practices and efficient methods for replacement along with any environmental impacts.
