Project Description
RAUCH inc. is providing architectural and engineering services for the renovation and restoration of the 209 Port Street former site of the Mt. Pisgah Church. Purchased by Polaris Village Ministries (PVM), groundbreaking has begun to renovate the building and provide classrooms for infant to second grade, a multi-purpose room to serve as a library, dining and worship space, a commercial kitchen, and playground. The building will serve to supplement the Building African American Minds (BAAM) programs. The Church dates to the early 1900s and has a rich history with area families. This will serve as a feeder school to the BAAM Academic Center.
Scope of services have included a building assessment of the existing conditions, space programming, project scheduling, cost estimating, schematic and design development, construction documents, and permitting. RAUCH inc. conducted stakeholder meetings to refine the design, including meetings with Town Officials, Planning and Zoning and Historic Commission staff. Upon start of construction, RAUCH inc. will serve as Construction Manager and provide administration support throughout the project.
